Power of a Morning Routine
I am Ben Newman and I am fired up to be with you today to talk about your morning routine.
I know some of you are thinking about the prizefighter day, you are right. You know why? It is that important.
What does you morning routine look like? We are in the midst of a new year, a new opportunity. What do you mornings look like?
I used to be the guy who woke up an hour before I had to be at the office and still hit the snooze button three times. Sweating putting my clothes on, wasn’t even intentional, saying goodbye to family.
It was terrible I got tired of living that way. Finally one day I said I am choosing to do this to myself and the behavior has to stop.
How do you feel about your success?
If you take a look at your day, stresses and how you start your day, there may be a correlation toward rushing and being stressed in the morning. There are books, research done. I have been talking about it for years.
I am not saying you have to wake up crazy early in the morning like I do. But just ask yourself this one question.
What time can I wake up that is earlier than now that will be the difference? Set a new time. What does that time look like? 15 or 30 minutes, an hour?
A time that is realistic that you can build on.
Morning Routine Example
Let’s say you wake up at 6:30. If you were to move that to 6:00 would the extra 30 minutes help you. To get in a quick workout or read. Look at the to do list. Put you head in the //bible. What does it look like for you?
30 minutes a day, 2 and a half hours a week. Four weeks in a month. Ten hours a month.
What if right now I could have with you, wake up and I gave you an extra day a month.
You stole an extra day. I look at how early I get up, almost the equivalent of an extra month I get a year. An extra month. It is like working in the 13 month year. When you are busy and there is a lot going on, choose your daily behavior, take a look at the morning. What does the ideal morning look like for you?
