The POWER of the “I AM” Statement

Welcome back to “New Man, New Woman, New Week.”  I’m Ben Newman, and today, I am CRAZY fired up!  This is one of those “Ooh Baby!” moments, and I’m gonna bring it fast, and we’re gonna come hard, and this is gonna be quicker than most of our videos.  You know why?  Because this is just an easy, easy tool that you can use to have massive impact in your life.

The Power of I am Statements

It’s called an “I AM” statement.  What’s an “I AM” statement?  Here’s how it starts?  It starts with a “Who are you?” question.  So who are you?  I’m not talking about things you’ve already accomplished.  I’m talking about things that you believe you CAN accomplish.  Take out a piece of paper.  Write the question, “Who are you?”  And you answer it with an “I AM” statement.  Now I try to not tell stories of “me, me, me,” but I have to share this with you, because this is the power of putting it down on paper.  This is the power of the “I AM” statement for you in your life.

How the I Am Statement Helped Me

Two years ago, part of my “I AM” statement was “I AM a recognized thought leader.”  Last year, at the end of 2012, I received an email from the Napoleon Hill Foundation, and in that email it mentioned that “You have been selected as one of 51 speakers, authors, and top thought leaders in the world to produce a 17-chapter book about Napoleon Hill, the legend Napoleon Hill and his 17 timeless secrets.”  So why do I share this story with you?  Because for two years, it was in my “I AM” statement that I would be a recognized thought leader.  And here, this email comes unsolicited that I’ve been selected with 51 authors total.  We’re talking Brian Tracy is one of the coauthors; Ken Blanchard; Jeffrey Gitomer, Mark Victor Hansen, John Gordon; I’m saying this is crazy!  But it was the belief, just like for you.  This is your opportunity to think crazy big, and isn’t it hard to believe, it’s almost amazing, that the exact words in that email, it said “thought leader.”  It didn’t say “big thinker.”  It didn’t say “someone who just sets big goals.”  It literally said “thought leader.”  It’s what I had been saying to myself for two years.

So forget about me.  Forget about the fact that now the book is out and I can’t believe that that whole “I AM” came to fruition.  This is about the dreams that can become reality in your life.  So who are you?  Take out that piece of paper.  Who are you?  Write down that “I AM” statement.  Don’t worry about the results.  Control your daily behaviors.  Remember, the most highly successful people drive their daily behaviors.  Believe in it, work for it, stay fired up about it, and I will see you next Monday for “New Man, New Woman, New Week.”  Go do great things.  What are you gonna tell yourself big boy?
